Abstract

|
This study aims to develop an integrated simulation module and scenario designed for nursing assessment and intervention for patients with breast cancer and depression during cancer treatment. This study is a descriptive research that applies gamification through a literature review. The scenario is an ‘escape room simulation’ comprising a three-step algorithm. The first step is nursing for pain after cancer surgery, the second step is nursing for chemotherapy side effects, and the third step is nursing for depression after cancer surgery. A standardized patient cohort was used for the nursing interventions for depression. Through this simulation scenario, it is possible to not only comprehensively assess health problems from both physical and psychological perspectives but also duly teach appropriate nursing plans and interventions according to priorities.
